Chloramphenicol eye drops is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Eye infections are a common cause of conjunctivitis which causes the eye to become inflamed, feels gritty, and may water more than usual. The white of the eye may look red, and eyelids may become swollen and stuck together with a discharge when one wakes up in the morning.
